BGP origin ASN, longest-matching CIDR prefix, and access network classification

Map any IPv4 or IPv6 address to its exact routed CIDR block, autonomous system number, canonical operator organization, and access network type (residential, mobile, business, or cloud hosting).

Real-time BGP origin ASN and canonical operator naming

Instead of relying on static allocation netblocks that ignore sub-allocations and BGP more-specifics, ipscope builds its Radix/LPM tree directly from global BGP RIB dumps and RPKI Route Origin Authorizations.

  • matched_network: The exact longest-matching routed CIDR prefix (/8 to /32 for IPv4, /16 to /128 for IPv6).
  • network.asn: Origin Autonomous System Number normalized as an integer.
  • network.organization: Canonical operator name cleaned of registry boilerplate.

Distinguish consumer broadband and cellular CGNAT from cloud datacenters

Knowing the ASN is only half the story: large operators run both consumer FTTH broadband and enterprise cloud hosting under the same umbrella. Our prefix-level classifier labels each subnet by its actual traffic profile.

  • connection_type: residential, mobile, business, hosting, education, government, or unknown.
  • Boolean convenience flags: is_residential, is_mobile, is_business, and is_hosting.
  • Identifies 4G/5G cellular carrier gateways so you never rate-limit thousands of mobile users sharing one CGNAT IP.
